There are a two main types of leashes you can decide to use when you get your dog! It can also be helpful to have both types of leases on hand for use in different situations. The leashes we will be talking about today are normal leashes versus retractable leashes.   Let us start by discussing the importance of always having a normal leash available for use. When you first bring home a puppy, having a normal leash is a great tool for training. Beginning teaching your dog walking and leash manners with a normal leash is much easier. This is because they cannot pull to gain extra length, while they can with a retractable leash. A normal leash also gives you as the owner more control over your dog and where they can go. This is helpful when taking your dog into public places, such as pet stores, the vet office, and densely populated parks or walking trails.
